Jim Neff, lobbyist for the
CMAC and CMA since 1992, recently
announced his retirement and
was honored at a reception as
part of CMAC’s Fall Conference
in San Francisco on Wednesday,
October 27. |
|
Jim is well-known and highly respected
in Sacramento. He began his career as
a young man while attending the
California State University,
Sacramento, working in the Lieutenant
Governor’s Office. He became a
Special Assistant to Governor Ronald
Reagan from 1974 to 1975. From 1975
to 1983 he worked in the office of
Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., serving
Governor Brown as Legislative
Secretary from 1980 to 1983. Jim
received his law degree from the
McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento in
1981. In January 1983 Jim was
the founding partner of Neff/Thomas
Incorporated and in 2003 formed the
firm of Neff Advocacy.
A Legislative Proclamation recognizing
Jim was presented to CMAC’s President
Steve Schacht by DCA Director Charlene
Zettel at the reception. A Waterford
capitol dome paper weight was also
given to Jim by his friend at CMAC. We
wish him our very best in his well
earned retirement.
